I went to the Washtenaw Community Concert Band's Halloween concert and had fun. The next time to catch them is Dec. 18 for the Christmas performance, where they collaborate with the Ypsilanti Community Choir.
Hey all: If you were looking for something to do for Halloween and like local theater, I wrote about the upcoming production in Ypsilanti of "Hollywood and Hyde" on my blog, here:
If that's not your cup of tea (har-har), then stay tuned, because tentative upcoming reviews will cover monthly storytelling events, a community band performance and a fund-raising euchre tournament.
I'll be reviewing exhibits, musical events, classes and workshops, etc. and providing insider tips to help you get full enjoyment from them. So far, all the posts I have planned are positive, but if something is really suck-tastic and not worth the trip, I'll be sure to document that as well.
Anyone looking for a volunteer opportunity or available to be a pet foster let me know. Many local animal rescues in the area are in need of dog foster's and supplies.
My husband and I took in a stray kitten who was abandoned. I am allergic to cats though and we need to find him a good home. He is brown with white socks. He's very sweet, all checked out and treated at the vet now, snuggly, and gentle. Let me know if you need furry warm sweetness in your life.
Hi, Just wanted to tell folks that there's a new email group for A2/Ypsi folks- kind of like a freecycle for just book swapping! Imagine getting tons of books without having to wait at the library or pay money for them :). Feel free to join- would love to have new members!
I need to get some pictures of some rats. Anybody know where I might encounter Rattus Rattus and/or Rattus Norvegicus? I'm hoping for clean ones, not *ahem* wild ones, but they need to be natural looking, not white like lab rats. (Yes, I'm clearly a rat racist! lulz)
Any point in the right direction would be most appreciated.
